The gigantic Gopuram at the Ranganathaswamy Koil in Srirangam. Shot with my mobile phone camera since I hadn’t carried the big mamma with me on our 2-day trip to Srirangam last week.

For those who don’t know, a Gopuram is a monumental tower, usually ornate, at the entrance of any temple, especially in South India. The gopuram forms a prominent feature of Hindu Temples.They are topped by the kalashams, bulbous stone finials. They function as gateways through the walls that surround temple complexes (Source: Wikipedia)
