Soaring wings

The soaring eagle at the Jetty in Pulau Langkawi, Malaysia. For some reason, this reminds of myself right now, ‘cos I’m trying to fly into the skies with some hope in my heart too.

Some trivia for you: ‘Pulau’ means Island. ‘Langkawi’ means reddish-brown eagle in colloquial Malay. The Malay word for eagle is helang – shortened is “lang”. Kawi means the colour reddish-brown. Hence, Pulau Langkawi means ‘Land of the Brown Eagle’.
